The Sansad Bhawan or the Parliament House is a circular colonnaded building located close to the Rashtrapati Bhawan. This is the centre of power in India, the two houses of Parliament — the Lok Sabha (House of the People) and the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) are located within its walls. The building was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker, who were responsible for the planning and construction of New Delhi. The construction of the bulding took six years to complete (1921-27).
